Many thought it was a maple tree.

This misshapen tree has held a fascination for me for some time
I could not resist the opportunity this misty fall morning

Hi Kathy - Great photos! I love the mist rising from the lake--I expect to see Nessie in he picture!
David - The trees are starting to look rather bare and the frost's are getting heavier ..... soon the white on th roof in the morning won't be frost
William - the heavier the mist the heavier the frost ..... backing onto a river as we do we always seem to get earlier and heavier frosts than those a short distance from us
Chris - LOL I think the river is a little shallow for Nessie.
I can see why you're fascinated with this tree. It's just begging to become the centerpiece of photos, isn't it?
Margaret - it is like the real estate market ..... sometimes lopsided with a variety of twists and turns but ultimately continuing to grow upwards.
Kathy - we have even had the beginnings of frosty mornings the last couple of days here in "balmy Victoria"!

David - there may be a nip in the air in Victoria but today was warm and sunny here ..... This time of year you need a jacket one day and you could almsot go in short sleves the next

What a beautiful little tree. It must be amazing when it flowers in the spring too. It looks rather like a large bonsai tree.

Kathy - Muskoka is beautiful this time of the year but I think that tree needs a vacation. Better send it to Florida for some R & R :-)
